08/05/2009 - For this week's out and about, I chronicle the unfolding of events at Gold Medal Park during lunchtime. For many Minneapolians (is that a word?), noon hour at the park is their one bit of peace, serenity, and sunshine during the daily grind of nine to five. Also a favorite spot for lovers, picnickers, and harassed parents looking to rid their children of excess energy, Gold Medal Park is proof that even city-dwelling Minnesotans need their daily dose of nature.

07/28/2009 - Alas...my intern other half is leaving to return to her home turf...Yale. The other staffers obliged me by providing a series of interviews about Lauren...and the result was what I think is probably one of the best Out and About features ever produced.

06/18/2009 - It seems as though June 18, 2009 was destined to be a day of meteorological extremes. The sunny, sauna-like conditions of this morning and afternoon contrast sharply with the thunderstorms and tornadoes that are supposedly rolling in this evening. As an act of solidarity with the weather, Lauren and I decided to continue the extreme theme in this week's Out and About. We hit the streets of Minneapolis to find out just one thing: which type of extreme weather is your favorite?
